How to Subscribe

  • Click "subscribe" in the upper right corner, choose either 'Parents' or 'Community Subscribers', and fill out the required fields.
  • Parent Subscribers: you'll get an email with instructions on how to set your password.
  • Community Subscribers: choose the type of subscription you want, and pay via Paypal unless you qualify for one of the free subscriptions. A moderator will review your subscription, and give you access to your profile page if applicable. You will then receive an email with instructions on how to set your password.

How to Unsubscribe

You just need to unsubscribe from all the BPN newsletters.  Information here:  How do I subscribe to or unsubscribe from the newsletters?

How to Log In

Once you have created an account, you will see "log in" in the upper right corner when you go to the new website. Click on that and type in your username and your password.  You can request a new password on this page if you've forgotten it.

How to tell if you are already logged in

If you are logged in to your account, you will see your user name displayed in the upper right corner.

Problems Logging In

  1. The website doesn't recognize my login or email:  Did you create an account on the new website?  You must create an account on this website even if you already subscribe to BPN newsletters on the old website.  Click 'subscribe' in the upper right corner and create an account.  If you have already created an account, you have a login and you should have received an email with instructions to set your password. If you have a Community Subscriber account, it might take 1-3 days for your account to be approved. For parents,  your approval email is mailed immediately after you create your account.

  2. I never got password instructions: Once you subscribe as a parent or nanny, you should receive an email right away with instructions on setting a password. If you didn't receive this email, check your Spam or Junk folder. Hotmail has been especially bad about misidentifying BPN mail as spam. If you still can't find it, contact us and we'll reset your password for you.  Schools, daycares and other Community Subscriptions require moderator review before the password instructions are mailed. In this case it might be a day or two before you receive the email.

  3. I don't remember my password:  Go to the login page and type in your Username or email.  Under the Password box, click "Forgot your password? Reset it now"

 Who can subscribe to BPN?

BPN accepts two types of subscriptions:

  1. Parents:  Parents and parents-to-be can subscribe for free. You must live in the SF Bay Area or be planning a move here, and you must be actively parenting children (of any age including young adults) so that you can participate in parent-to-parent discussions. Foster parents, grandparents and other family members caring for children in the family are also eligible to subscribe as parents if they are actively involved in caring for children. More info: FAQ for Parent Subscribers

  2. Community members: Schools, individuals, organizations and businesses in the SF Bay Area that offer services to parents or children may choose one of our paid subscriptions (free for some types of non-profits.) A subscription allows you to post about your program or services on BPN. More info:  About Community Subscribers

Why do I need to be a local parent to subscribe to BPN?

BPN is a non-profit network managed mainly by volunteer parents.  Our mission is to provide a forum for parents in the SF Bay community so they can help, advise, and support each other.  We are committed to keeping subscriptions free for parents, and we do not accept advertising or corporate or government grants. Our only income comes from the child-related schools and businesses in the community who pay a fee to subscribe to BPN.  We publish advice and reviews on our website for all to use, but our resources are limited.  So we can only provide free subscriptions to parents in the Bay Area.
