Mothership HackerMoms is the first-ever women’s creative life lab for mothers, and we define motherhood broadly. We are a small cooperative dedicated to emotionally supporting our members who sustain creative lives. We hold each other up during the messiness of life with kids. We explore various arts, entrepreneurship, hacker and maker culture and welcome all sorts of passionate people.

Since the pandemic, we mostly meet online. Our most popular offering is Failure Club – we gather weekly to move through personal goals surrounded by kickass people who support us and help us show up even when we fail.

Our space on the Berkeley/Oakland border is for the vaccinated and boostered. It is kid friendly but focused on moms who get 24/7 access.

Mothership is a great co-working space. Filled with interesting and diverse women. Our backgrounds, lives, and the ages of our children are all different, and the space is better for it. It's a mellow, clean, comfortable space to go to to get work done without distraction. Hacker Moms is an great group: and I can't recommend enough how valuable it is to join a Failure Club - no matter what your "project" is, having a nurturing group of women who are also "in-it" is the best, gentlest, way to be motivated and hold yourself accountable.

Seconding the suggestion for HackerMoms. You’ll have 24-7 access to the space for $80/month.

Are you a mom or femme-identified caregiver? Take a look at hackermoms.org on Adeline and Alcatraz. It's been great for me. It's a shared space so you wouldn't have a dedicated desk but there's always one available.

When I needed to escape from my house, Mothership HackerMoms was a great discovery for me. I couldn't keep going to coffee shops and I really wanted a community to join. Failure Club is the best way I've found to become a part of their community and get to know everyone there. You don't have to be a full Mothership HackerMom to participate in Failure Clubs. Look for the pink HackerMom letters on Adeline.

Hackermom’s Failure Club is a wonderful source of support in whatever dreams you want to chase. We’re doing a distanced model over Zoom. Information is available on the website.

Not a daycare but Mothership HackerMoms in Berkeley has sitters available for members who are working in the space.

Yes there is - it's HackerMoms.  =)  I've rarely seen such an accepting and supportive group of women regardless of your parenting style.  Check out our site and come to an open house - we'd love to meet you.

RE: African Music Class for Babies

Hacker Mom Space in Berkeley has an African Dance, Song, and Drumming for Kids session on Saturday mornings. It's really great. My daughter really enjoyed it. Here is their calendar of Events: http://mothership.hackermoms.org/calendar/
