DOULAS by the BAY is a team of professionally trained and experienced Doulas and other Newborn professionals who are dedicated to supporting new & expecting families in the San Francisco Bay Area.Despite the immeasurable rewards that come with being a parent, transitioning into this new role can be difficult. We firmly believe that every family deserves to have a warm, experienced professional to help ease the transition into parenthood. I used Doulas by the Bay and I could not recommend them more highly. They are very communicative and they offer wonderful support. We had Damaris and Martha as our doulas and both of them were extremely professional and helpful. This was our first baby so we were nervous, but very quickly knew that our baby was in good hands. They also helped me to slowly sleep train our baby and he was sleeping 7 hours through the night at 1.5 months (he also gained a lot of weight which helped!). We will use their services again if we are blessed enough to have another baby.
I gave birth in August at Kaiser Oakland and we went through Doulas by the Bay to find our doula. We hired Jessica Garcez and she was AMAZING.
We worked with Samsarah Morgan through Doulas by the Bay and she was truly amazing. Did 1-1 birth education, helped me process some issues with my first birth, helped facilitate the birth I wanted, helped with healing throughout post partum. I could not recommend her more.
Definitely interview a few different doulas when making your choice.
We recently went through Doulas by the Bay and had a positive experience!They can connect you with doulas that have a range of different experience, education, birth philosophies,etc, that are available around your due date. The company is based in SF so I'd imagine a lot of the doulas would be available for a UCSF birth. I ended up giving birth 2 months early with an emergency c-section, but our doula provided great support to myself and my husband virtually.
I'm working with Doula's by the Bay to interview a few right now. They offer tiered pricing based on how much experience the doula has. My interactions with them have been great so far!
