Hi! We had our daughter in Linda's Family Day Care (In-Home Daycare) from 18 mos-2 years old before she started preschool in Oakland: Linda's Family Day Care: https://www.berkeleyparentsnetwork.org/recommend/preschool/lindas-famil…

There have been many changes impacting Linda and her daycare facility(s).  My child is no longer with Linda, but there is no doubt in my mind that Linda and her mom, Susana, loved and cared for my child with boundless heart.

That being said, below highlight the events that have unfolded over the past weeks:

- Linda's home is now licensed for 14 children as she is incorporating a preschool program in the afternoons

- We started at Susana's, with Linda's mom at her "other facility," as Linda told us it was her second location.  We have come to find out that this facility (Susana's) was never licensed and the ~8 children who were there were never under licensed care and were never cared for by licensed caregivers.  None of the parents were ever told this; Susana's facility was shut down by the state October 31, 2017.

 - Linda's mother-in-law, Rosario, was also operating an unlicensed daycare that was somehow associated with Linda's, and was unfortunately cited for a SIDS death, which opened a proverbial can of worms for Linda and her home-based daycare

- In the past month, as noted on the state website, Linda has been cited for numerous infractions from over capacity of children, to employees not being fingerprinted.

- She has incurred multiple fines, has asked parents to adjust birthdates on paperwork to balance the infant/toddler ratio, and is still being investigated by the state.

- From what I understand, Linda's facility is still open; Susana and Rosario's are not and last I heard neither woman has applied for their license yet. The investigation on Linda and her license is still ongoing as of today (11/6/2017).

I don't doubt the care my child received was genuine and that she was loved.  But lack of licensure and communication, as well as multiple false accounts communicated to parents, on top of these investigations, is cause for great alarm.  Ethically I could not let another parent/family move forward with Linda without knowing my experience.

We have been absolutely blessed to have found Linda! As a working mom, it is always hard to find a peace of mind when leaving your child to go work. I can honestly say i have found a second family for my child at Linda's daycare. Linda and her staff make sure every child is not only cared for but also loved. Not to mention the wondeful meals, spanish exposure, trips to park, art projects, and special focus on manners and respect. My child has learned so much. He wakes up on the weekends and is ready for "school." Couldnt have found a better daycare, or as we call it "a second home"

We used Linda for temporary in home nanny care for our toddler in summer 2015 (3 weeks).  Our son took to Linda immediately, and asked for her occasionally after our time had ended.  Overall, Linda was warm, responsive, and in tune to the needs of our child.  She's also a mother of a young toddler herself.  We'd recommend Linda to others, and are happy that she's been able to establish her own in home daycare.

My name is Cristy and we have our daughter attend Linda's Family Daycare. We are more than pleased with Linda's childcare services. Such a loving place. My daughter is always happy to be there and loves the other two helpers there as well. She comes home with adorable projects that they make daily. She is taken to the park and local library. We love how responsible and professional this facility is and would give them 5+ stars!

We absolutely love Linda! She was our nanny years back before she decided to become a successful daycare owner. We send our third child (our youngest child ) there and we couldn't be more happy. Great care, healthy meals, wonderful attention to all the children, and most important, my child feels happy and loved. Couldn't ask for a better place! 5 stars without a doubt.
