About the Program:

KSS Immersion School of Oakland - Lincoln Highlands, aka Kids Speaking Spanish, is the first true Spanish immersion preschool program in the Oakland and San Francisco Bay Area. Since 2000, hundreds of families have experienced the benefits of our program which include an incredibly warm and nurturing native Spanish-speaking teaching staff, and a solid curriculum that balances child-centered play, with thematic structure to aid in language acquisition and academic preparedness. Research shows that children that experience bilingualism at an early age have increased cognitive, social, and academic ability. Plus, after attending KSS they can speak Spanish!

  • KSS Lincoln Hts - Feedback about the program, teachers and staff

    We are considering enrolling our child at KSS and only saw one review about the Lincoln Heights school.  Could anyone else weigh in on their experience, specifically the teachers and staff? I have no doubt that they're knowledgable, however we're interested in hearing if they're good at connecting with the kids, empathetic, accept children's differences, etc.  

    Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!  Thanks.

    I can’t speak about the Lincoln Highlands location, but the Montclair location has been truly amazing for my kids! The teachers are smart, loving, energetic, and the program is balanced and well run!

    Hello- wondering if any parents can offer a review of KSS? Im looking for my daughter who is currently at Monte Tavor and who would be starting at 2yo. Thank you!

    I’ll bite. We have two kids at KSS Montclair. Older one since the pandemic. KSS had been pretty great. Maestras (teachers) are very loving and care a lot about the kids. I can tell they have gotten to know our kids well. I love that KSS is flexible in a lot of ways but also structured and has good systems in place. Generally good communication and responsiveness from the administration. My kids are native Spanish speakers and the immersion has been great for them. Most kids do not come from Spanish speaking households but it seems that their receptive language skills in Spanish develop well (though I think the kids mostly speak in English to each other). The other parents I’ve met are truly lovely, down to earth, hard working professionals, people you’d like to spend time with. I would recommend KSS without hesitation!
