It's a great school/daycare where babies can stay all the way up to starting TK/Kindergarten and grow with the community. They have part-time schedules that can meet your needs. The teachers and directors are very engaged and caring, and it's way more diverse than any of the other preschools I visited in Berkeley. My daughter has really blossomed in the performing arts program and I've met a lot of great families here. I've always felt confident my daughter was safe and having a great time here. I'm sad my daughter will be graduating soon!
Golden gate learning center in Berkeley is a small pretty laidback preschool with a diverse groups of kids. Our daughter joined 2 months ago and is enjoying it so far. There is at least one kid of every race in her class. Would recommend.
I would love to reccomend GGLC, we had had a wonderful experience with our two children 2 and 4 years old.
The teams are so warm, caring, always available for a chat, incredibly communicative and highly sophisticated and knowelegable about early childhood developement.
They start and end the day with giant smiles for the kids, and have built incredibly strong relationships with the kids and truly accelerated their learning and developemnt.
We are relocating so will miss Golden Gate very much !
My son was enrolled at Building Kids from 10 months of age to 2 years old. He started in Bright Beginnings (baby room) and transitioned to Little Learners (toddler room). He recently left Building Kids to join his older sibling at their preschool this July.
He/we LOVED Building Kids! He looked forward to going every day. The teachers and staff are wonderful, kind, and caring. We got a lot of updates and pictures in their app. He made a lot of friends and he was sad to leave. He would talk about his teachers and friends after school and on the weekends. He had a lot of fun there.
I was also unsure at first because of outdoor space and just him being in a daycare setting, but the kids get a lot of outdoor play and have so many activities during the day. We have plans to enroll our 3rd kiddo next year.
The only negative is the parking at pickup and drop off. It’s a busy street and at prime times there is very limited parking.
