My daughter is thrilled to be going to UC Berkeley next year and we know this would not have been possible without Maya’s tremendous insight on the UC admissions process and her guidance.  We first met with Maya right before my daughter started 9th grade, and she helped us outline her coursework for all of the high school based on her academic strengths.  More importantly, Maya also discussed her extracurriculars and provided specific suggestions based on her interests and passions. My daughter had some academic struggles during high school and Maya provided crucial advice and suggestions on how to mitigate this.  She gave my daughter hope and the confidence to share her unique story, highlighting her strengths in the UC application.  There were things my daughter was involved in that she did not know could go on a college application, and without Maya, I think my daughter would have missed many opportunities on the application.  Maya is amazing! She not only has deep knowledge of the UCs, but she is such a kind and compassionate person who really cares.

Maya helped our son organize his thoughts and put his best foot forward during his application process. Her persistent reminders of the perspective of the application reader were so important. It’s easy to think you are providing all of the relevant details, and in a clear, logical manner. Maya made sure nothing was as left out. Her attention to detail and knowledge of the process was invaluable, and I believe instrumental in our son’s acceptance to UC Berkeley. 

My family worked with Maya over the past two years to help my son with his college applications.  My son was only interested in UC schools, so Maya was the perfect college counselor for us.  While she came highly recommended, I have to say she exceeded my expectations throughout the whole process!  She was always prepared for meetings and provided lots of guidance on classes, leadership and other opportunities.  Once the college application process started, she was always available to answer questions and worked with us to ensure my son's stories were clear and reflected his accomplishments, passion and hard work.  I am delighted to share that my son will be going to UCLA in the fall.  From my experience, the college app process is not just about working hard and checking boxes, but making sure that your application reflects it!  Maya played a key role in helping my son stand out and ultimately get into his top UC!  I can't thank Maya enough for her support and would highly recommend her!

My son and I had the fantastic opportunity to work with Maya on his UC application. We were blown away by her knowledge. Her insight into the process is remarkable. What I thought were great essays and short answer questions became elevated to superior after working with Maya. One of the many qualities I loved about Maya's approach as she worked with my son was watching her personal interaction to help him and how she made him feel comfortable and confident. She guided him on how he could apply the same approach to other college applications. Her calm demeanor relieved my child's stress so he could focus better, allowing my son to complete a powerful UC application highlighting his strengths and everything that makes him unique. Maya has been a fantastic advisor for my daughter as she embarks on her college application journey. From the first contact, we knew that Maya was not only very knowledgeable but also someone who cared profoundly about the students. All of our email inquiries were responded to by Maya quickly. Before our first meeting, Maya asked my daughter to send detailed information about herself, including academic interests, target schools, academic records, extracurricular activities, etc. Maya then prepared a customized presentation for us when we arrived for the meeting. The care and preparation she has put in are above and beyond our expectations. During our meeting, Maya’s knowledge and advice on the UC application process were first-class. Also, Maya found strengths in my daughter’s application and instilled confidence in her. Most importantly, my daughter said she felt more hopeful and motivated after our meeting with Maya. 

I only wish that we could find Maya and get her advice earlier. I have a younger son and I know where I will bring him for his college applications.

We were lucky enough to first meet with Maya years ago when when our daughter was in 9th grade (she's now a rising Senior). Since then Maya has helped illuminate how the undergraduate college admissions process works as well as provide guidance about choosing courses and activities that align with our daughter's interests (invaluable advice!). More recently, Maya has explained the different college applications, guidance on how to showcase extracurricular activities, advice on personal insight questions and more. It has been particularly helpful working with Maya since the beginning of High School because some decisions can be made early on that can really help strengthen a student's college application years later. Maya not only offers invaluable advice, she's also a kind and warm person who has helped take a lot of the stress out of the college application process. We have really enjoyed working with Maya and highly recommend her! 

My son had just started his freshman year and both my son and I were feeling overwhelmed with all the information being thrown at us without any context or explanation. We are so happy we were able to meet with Maya when we did. She gave is a great amount of information, fully explained everything and strategically set my son up to make some great choices to really help him stand out in his college applications. Both my son and I left our session feeling so confident and just happy with the insight we had just gained. Really enjoyed talking with and hearing all the great information Maya shared with us. I’ve recommended her to all of our friends and look forward to more guidance from Maya as my son progresses in his high school career. 

I highly recommend Maya!  Maya provided such insight to the whole college application process.  She helped my 10th grade son put together a schedule of classes for the rest of high school based on my son's strengths and interests.  She guided him on how to strengthen his extracurricular activities based on his interests.  She explained how we can start to research which colleges may be a fit for my son.  She was amazing, but most importantly, she was kind and provided invaluable insight to the college admissions process and what my son can do now to stand out on college applications when he is a senior.

My son and I met with Maya the summer before senior year. Maya went through all four of the college applications and explained the differences and what my son could do to stand out on each application. My son left feeling confident on what he needed to do and meeting with Maya jumpstarted the whole college application process. I just wish I had met with Maya when my son was in 9th grade because we would have done thing differently. Highly recommend Maya - especially if you have no idea how to begin the college process.
