  • Dearest Hive-Mind,

This is a long shot, but has anyone been to Jean Sweeney Open Space Park in Alameda in the last week or so? They have a zip-line there for the kiddos, and last weekend it was broken, so I was wondering if anyone happens to know if they've fixed it yet.

    Thanks heaps,
    David in Oakland

I went yesterday, 5/14 and it was working!

You can do "See Click Fix" to get it onto their repair list.  Or just call Alameda Parks & Rec during business hours.

Hi, Jean Sweeney Open Space park in Alameda has a covered area with picnic tables. I believe it can be reserved through Alameda Parks & Rec department. I also know that the city of Oakland has various rec centers and facilities with space available for rental by the hour, but I don't know the details -- that could be an option for you too. Hope this helps!
