Veterinarian that makes house calls?

I have a cat that hates being in the car and going to the vet. It is traumatic for all of us. He struggles and fights inside his carrier so that he sometimes draws his own blood trying to get out. Added to that, our veterinarian has recently changed - retired and sold the business to a more corporate style vet – and we don’t really trust them. We are hoping to find a veterinarian that will come to the house to provide basic preventative care for a young strong healthy tomcat. Actually we have three cats. But the one is our main concern. We have used a service that makes house calls for hospice veterinary care. But this is not a hospice situation. Any recommendations are appreciated.

You didn’t mention where you’re located, but if you’re in her service area, Dr. Tracey Williams with Dog and Cat House Calls is amazing. We’ve been lucky enough to have her take care of our cat for years.

We just had our two dogs seen at our home with Vesta, they were great: https://www.vestaveterinary.com/

Margo Reid—she’s *wonderful*
We’ve used her for our nervous dog and our older dog who needed acupuncture for pain management.

I would wholeheartedly recommend Dr. Margo Reid (East Bay Veterinary House Calls); she's easily the best vet we've ever had!

Our cats reacted to a car trip exactly the same way.  They are amazingly calm with Adam [Dr. Brown].  Highly recommend the practice.  10 on a scale of 1 to 5.  :)

Hello! As a veterinarian in the area, I recommend Vesta Veterinary for wellness exams and other needs. They are pretty great and I trust them!

I haven’t needed to use them yet (plan on scheduling ebvhc next time I need a kitty check up for my two cats - we used to go to Woodminster Vet but refuse to go back) but my friend does for her two can’t and she loves their service:

I've worked with Dr. Margo Reid at East Bay Veterinary House Calls for a few years for our 2 cats. She's wonderful! It's so convenient, and I really trust her opinion. She's realistic and thorough, but doesn't push unnecessary tests, etc.

Yes! David Grant. He works out of Codornices Vet in Albany but also does house calls for routine check ups.  I live in Oakland.  It's not cheap but he comes prepared with everything and he does a great job.  My cat also hates going to the vet. Let me know if you have other questions. I've been very happy with him. dgrantdvm [at] gmail.com is his email.
