lawyer for a civil restraining order

I’m looking for recommendations for local family lawyers with expertise in civil harassment orders (restraining orders when the harasser is not a partner/family member). Ideally it would be great to find someone with knowledge of Berkeley’s landlord/tenant laws who can help manage the interaction of those two systems, but also ok if they’re just good with restraining orders.

The harasser is a tenant/roommate, so the rent board and tenant orgs likely won’t help.

Thanks for any recs, and if you’ve been in a position to need them I’m very sorry.

When I obtained a Temporary Restraining Order against a tenant mine was the only landlord-tenant case in a courtroom full of spouses and domestic partners. After a few attempts at obtaining one the tenant finally had a physical altercation with me in front of two witnesses who wrote affidavits.

We were in this situation a few years ago when we were subletting a room in a house we'd rented. The roommate from hell. We got a referral from the Alameda Bar Association for a landlord/tenant lawyer. He was very familiar with the ins and outs of Berkeley regulations and with restraining orders. So I'd start there, and if they can't help you, they'll be able to give you advice about what to do met.
