Fraxel for Crepey neck skin

I went to the dermatologist recently to ask about my neck which has become super itchy over the last few years...I thought it was an allergy. He indicated that the itching could be due to the changing characteristics of my neck skin (looks like crepe paper) and suggested Fraxel which will boost collagen production.  Was wondering if anyone had had Fraxel in the last few years and (a) whether you were pleased with the changes in your skin's texture and (b) if anyone had gotten multiple quotes and found some doctor's offices to be less expensive than others (and if so who were the less expensive docs/clinics)?  East Bay locations preferred. Thanks!

RE:

I love Fraxel. I have had multiple Fraxel treatments on the face. One thing to be aware of, there are several Fraxel lasers and I don't know which one your doctor is referring to. The one that I have had must be Restore. Repair is a single, aggressive treatment with recovery time of up to 10 day. The first time I did Restore I had a lot of swelling and my face looked distorted. Then there is a phase of rough skin and peeling. On the last few treatments I didn't swell nearly as much and have gone to work the next day (I look weird). I've done it on the neck / chest area once. For my issues in that area, which are more sun damage related, I felt IPL (intense pulsed light) was more beneficial. I don't have your crepe paper like skin issue so I can't specifically comment as to how Fraxel works on that. I've used California Hair Clinic run by Dr. Sara Wasserbauer. She offers a discount for multiple treatments. I have been very happy with the care that I have received there over the years.    https://lasercenterofwalnutcreek.com/

Fraxel re:pair™ is composed of a single, aggressive treatment. As Fraxel re:store,™ is gentler, multiple treatments are usually required for optimal results. Most patients require at least 3 to 5 treatments.

My neck began looking very "crepey" and blotchy.  I went to Kiehl's and got several creams they recommended and  6 months later there are no signs of the "crepey" blotchy skin.
