family law attorney for possible divorce consultation
Hi BPN.
I’ve been advised by a trusted family member to consult with a family law attorney to ask about divorce. I don’t know where to begin. I think my long time spouse and I may be too far entrenched in anger and resentment to find our way forward.
Suggestions? Thank you.

I highly recommend Gina Szeto or her colleagues at Szeto-Wong Law Firm. They helped my sister through her divorce. It was very contentious and her ex made a lot of money and used it to against her. Szeto-Wong were so good to her, I honestly was worried at first because they’re so nice and caring that I thought they couldn’t be bulldogs too but I was wrong. They got her what she needed to rebuild and were frequently acting as therapists almost.
I'm sorry to hear you're in this situation. No attorney recommendations, but in case there's any appetite for therapy, I wanted to share the name of a skilled couples therapist who has been instrumental in turning our relationship around (14 years together, the last three years with a child, lots of anger and resentment). I've worked with numerous individual and couples therapists and she's by far the most effective, insightful, pragmatic, and goal oriented. Ilona Hrebennikova, sees clients virtually. Best of luck.
I'm sorry you're in this position. I'm now 3+ years divorced from a spouse I had been with for 39 years. It was rough, and I'm happier than I've been in a very long time.
I recommend taking advantage of two free workshops that provide information for people considering divorce. I did both and found them very helpful. There are several ways to go about a divorce, and one may make more sense given your unique circumstances. You might even meet a professional that you'd like to consider working with.
