Getting window seat cushion made
I have a window seat that needs a new cushion in a custom size. Do you have recommendations about where to get it? I'm ideally looking for someone who can supply/cut firm latex foam and make a cover for the cushion with a zipper. Also open to buying the foam and cover separately, or supplying my own fabric. Price is definitely a consideration! Interested in local options but also open to buying online.

Calico Corners has a large selection of fabric and will custom make a window cushion. However they’re not inexpensive, but are good quality.
We've had excellent experiences with Umphred on San Pablo near Allston in Berkeley. They have upholstered a sofa for us, and made custom cushions. Excellent quality work!

Many years ago I had window seat cushions made at Famous Foam Factory in Berkeley. They did a great job, and the cost seemed reasonable from what I remember. I see that they are still in business. I would give them a call.

Though the customer service can feel a little gruff at first; they know their foam, and clearly have a lot of experience, knowledge and seem inundated with orders. (But that’s good!) They can give you an estimate of material cost and timeline before purchase. Hope you find somewhere that works well for you!

Richmond Express Cleaners did a job just like this for me! They did a WONDERFUL job at less than half the price quoted by an upholstery place. I had three cushions made for some patio furniture. I was able to buy the fabric on my own, and they provided the foam and the labor. It wasn't an easy job either -- I needed crescent-shaped cushions. They turned out perfect. The staff is very nice. They always remember to ask about how my daughter is doing.
