Decoding Dyslexia CA is a grassroots movement driven by California families, educators and dyslexia experts concerned with the limited access to educational interventions for dyslexia and other language-based learning disabilities within our public schools.  We aim to raise dyslexia awareness, empower families to support their children, and inform policymakers on best practices to identify, remediate, and support students with dyslexia in CA public schools.

Decoding Dyslexia of CA has a FB page you can join.  Google it, and it comes right up. People from all over post their experience and the group weighs in.  If its something specific to BUSD I can put you in touch with someone, that is parents in the district with LD kids.  PM me off the list.

RE:

I would suggest reaching out to Decoding Dyslexia CA.  They have a Facebook group and regional support groups.  Also, Learning Ally has a Facebook group.  You will get great information from DDCa and lots of support.  Good luck!  It is overwhelming to get the diagnosis but your child will find his or her own workarounds and you will figure out the support.  You are off to a great start getting a diagnosis so young.
