We feel so fortunate to have found Rincon de Luz daycare, a small in-home childcare facility at the El Cerrito/Richmond border. After deciding not to send our son to the same place as our daughter had attended (it was becoming very big and the provider/child ratio was getting too high), we were referred to Rincon through a friend. We could not be happier with our choice. I trust Noelia and Bessy as though they were family, which is how they treat my son! He is thriving under their care -- speaking Spanish, exploring arts and music, having a great time, and learning how to treat others with love and care. We couldn't be happier with Rincon de Luz. They provide meals, healthy snacks, field trips (library, park, etc.) and even preschool curriculum. They have helped us immensely with potty training. They currently have an opening for a two year old! Contact them quick!

We feel so lucky that we found Rincon de Luz.  Our daughter has been going to Rincon since she was 4 months old and is now 10 months.  She smiles and gets excited when she sees the front door.  It is so reassuring knowing that she is being so well taken care of and so loved by Noelia and Flor.  There are many daily activities and the children learn new songs and have a really lovely and safe environment.  I appreciate very much that Noelia and Flor speak to the children in spanish, I think this kind of early exposure to a second language is extremely beneficial.

I would absolutely recommend Rincon de Luz to other families and feel so very lucky that we found them and they had space for our little one.

My daughter started at Rincon de Luz when she was five months old and she is two now! Noelia and Flor are super loving to her and all of the other children in her care. I never have had a difficult drop off because my daughter loves to go there. Noelia treats each child like they are her own. She has a very loving nature that shows in her work. I have always felt that my daughter was in great hands and well cared for.

Noelia and Flor are big on taking the children outside with walks to the near by park and also story time at the neighborhood library. They have even gone on field trips to the zoo and the aquarium. Noelia and Flor do a good job in keeping parents informed about the children's day with photos and also a weekly email. Noelia does a great job in preserving all of the projects and art that they create daily. We even receive a yearly book of all her art.

Another thing to note is that Noelia and Flor speak Spanish with the children. It was great to see the other children picking up Spanish and my child picking up some English. It is a brilliant way to get early exposure to Spanish for your child.

I would highly recommend Rincon de Luz for any family looking for a caring daycare for their child.

If you are looking for a personable, small, in home day care you've found it! My son has been with Noe and Flor since he was 6 months (he is now almost 1.5). They were our first daycare, and from the moment we stepped into their lovely home they did everything in their power to make me and my son feel at home. They were really willing to work with me and all of my concerns as a first time parent. They both even went so far as to research cloth diapering to accommodate us (HUGE PLUS!!) Noe and Flor are so sweet and caring of all the children there. Their whole family is truely amazing and we will miss them immensely. It breaks my heart to take my son out of their care. They work very hard to provide pictures and updates for you every day, they do tons of fun activities and even go on field trips with the kiddos. My son has grown so much since starting with them, he has only known love and compassion from their care. There is absolutely nothing negative I  can say about them.

As a parent, I can not recommend Noelia's small, in-home, Spanish immersion daycare, Rincon de Luz, highly enough. Noe is a passionate and energetic care provider who teams up with her sister to provide high quality care. Noe understands that children, including babies, benefit from a wide array of sensory experiences. She goes above and beyond to creatively provide these experiences for the children under their care, including her toddler son. The daycare is filled with lots of fun resources to engage children: musical instruments, art supplies, toys, rockers, activity structures, and even a sandbox (and a bunny!). Each week the daycare chooses a different theme and offers the children a song, words, and toys that go along with the theme. During music lessons each toddler and baby is given a different instrument to drum, shake and play along with the group musical activity. It's impressive how quickly these tiny children learn under their care. To supplement daycare resources, Noe and her sister take the children out to the park playground almost daily and to library storytime a couple of times a week. Noe is big on creating community among the families, which I think is fantastic for the children. Noe keeps parents up-to-date through texts, photos and weekly e-mails. They are also amenable to alternative feeding, diapering, and care requests. Our child thrived at this daycare. We are sad to leave them for logistical reasons.

Florencia, Noelia's sister, is smart, energetic, creative, resourceful, caring, dependable. Apart from working with her sister at Rincon de Luz, Florencia has been babysitting for my family for the last year. We adore Florencia.

Noelia was extremely nurturing toward my son Lucas when she was working at Happytogether daycare, before they closed. She is naturally caring, careful, attentive, and loving. Noelia was always open to listening to any concerns I had about my son, who was shy and had food sensitivities. She always gave me detailed reports about what Lucas did that day, noticing if he was happy and had a good day. Honestly, she made a better child care provider than I would myself, because she is so patient with children, and I am a marriage and family therapist! So, if I could choose anyone to care for my children that's not me, it would be Noelia! I trust her completely.

Sincerely,

Laura Tran
