About the Program:

Oak Grown Kids prioritizes and celebrates letting kids be kids. I’ll meet your child where they are, and provide a loving, supportive and thoughtfully created environment to help them grow. With a background in early childhood education and over 10 years of experience as a pediatric speech language pathologist, I've crafted a program that celebrates each child's unique journey. From fostering a love for learning through play to embracing an unhurried childhood, Oak Grown Kids emphasizes spending time outside, following children’s lead and participation in practical activities of daily life. I am committed to forming nurturing relationships, using evidence based approaches, and planning activities and experiences that are developmentally appropriate to help your child build their skills across domains (cognitive, language/literacy, physical, and social/emotional development).

Oak Grown Kids is a fantastic daycare. Hannah is an outstanding caregiver and we feel so lucky to have enrolled our son here. She's an excellent communicator, and clearly does a lot of research on child development and how to interact with the kids. She provides nutritious mostly organic meals for the kids, a clean, safe and stimulating environment for the kids to play in that allows the kids to play independently. Her mother, who used to run a daycare of her own, has even made a point to knit dolls for the kids to play with. She's set up great spaces for the kids to sleep. My son naps very well there. From day one, the space has felt calm and inviting. Her approach with caregiving is respectful and thoughtful. Hannah is delightful to be around and best of all, our son loves her and his peers. I can't recommend this daycare enough.

Our toddler has been with Hannah since he was 6 months old, when she started the daycare in August 2024. Her daycare currently has 4 kids overall, one of which is Hannah’s son. We couldn’t be any happier with the daycare. Hannah has a background in early childhood education, and she’ll happily lend you books on child development. She’s incredibly loving and warm with the kids, and is flexible with schedules and everything else. She’ll do whatever is best for the child, even if it creates a lot of extra work for her. It’s extremely convenient for us that she provides meals and snacks for the kids, and literally everything else, like diapers, sunscreen, etc. So all that we have to bring is the kid and a change of clothes (although at the end of the day our kid often wears the clothes of her kid because our cubby contents were useless that day).

Hannah transformed most of her house into a daycare. There are several connected rooms for free play, with new toys, climbing gyms and rockers popping up almost weekly. She also has two napping rooms, which offer a lot of flexibility for different nap schedules. The kids go outside in her yard every day if they want, no matter the weather. There’s a sandpit outside, a playhouse, endless water play arrangements, trucks, etc, etc. I got the impression that at some daycares smaller babies who can’t walk yet are often parked in high chairs for extended periods. Hannah doesn’t even have highchairs: the kids sit in low chairs around a table that’s low to the floor, and they can climb out whenever they want. I once joked that Hannah grows free-range children in her daycare. And it pays out: Our now 15 month old is ahead of almost every other kid of his age in terms of his motor skills. He excitedly runs into daycare each morning, and sometimes there are tears when we pick him up and he has to say goodbye to Hannah, the toys, and his playmates.

On top of being incredible with the kids, Hannah is also a great communicator and will triple check with you to make sure she follows your wishes, if you have them. She sends us photos and videos on most days, and they are the highlight of our workdays. We couldn’t be more happy with Hannah’s daycare!
