About the Program:

Hello parents and guardians!

First off, thank you to the wonderful parents of BPN community. Because of you, our home has grown so much.

At Our Green Little Village we believe that play, exploration and open-minds will provide your child with a family home environment where your child can feel free and safe to explore the senses. We play, sing, and dance, we paint, color, and mold, we explore, share, and take turns, and most of all we have fun exploring and getting to know the world around us.

We run a bilingual program (se habla español) and we are located in Oakland in a gated property owned by family. We provide all-organic snacks and meals.

Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions or to schedule a visit :)

Best,

Ana

I love OGLV. The women who work there care about each child and do what they can to help them thrive developmentally. Blanca is the landlord/mentor and is always peeking her head in to see how the kids are doing and to play with them and cuddle them for a minute. She has extensive experience as a trainer at a non-profit child care referral and support agency serving the diverse families in Northern Alameda County, California. She is super useful if you have any random parenting questions. Flor, Claudia, and Laura take care of the kids day-to-day. They are all enthusiastic, energetic and great cooks! OGLV provides organic food, they encourage outdoor play in the patio, they also have dance time and music time. They often take stroller walks to local parks and the library for story time. My toddler is THRIVING at OGLV. He is always so happy to be there. The only bad thing is that the street it's located on is busy so backing out of the narrow driveway and trying to turn can be stressful. Some parents opt to park on the street instead of the driveway or to park on San Carlos street, half a block away. I'm willing to deal with the minute of stress of parking my car to know that my child is in a loving, caring, safe environment daily. I tell all my friends how lucky I am to find a great daycare with wonderful women caring for him.

We've been at OGLV since April 2016. Our two girls love it and look forward to school in the morning.

It was difficult to find a place that would take both infants and toddlers, and provide meals, much less ORGANIC meals. Add to the fact that it's Spanish immersion and it's a great find. The staff are very loving and obviously care for our children quite a bit. They also do their best to accomodate parents' commutes. They encourage the children to paint, sing, tell stories and so forth.

The only downside for me is the location on High street. It's a high traffic area and sometimes difficult to park and deal with the flow of traffic. We're quite happy with them.

Our 19 month old son has been with Our Little Village since he was 9 months old! I am grateful to have found such a caring environment for him. It is a hidden gem where kids are encouraged to use their curiosity to explore their surroundings. I am always impressed with the extra mile that they take to make it a stimulating environment for each of their developmental stages. They read, sing, play instruments, use puppets, speak to them in Spanish and engage children in sensory play. I have also felt very supported by them as I grow as a parent. I can't stress enough how this is a "home away from home" and I can tell that my son is happy being with them. That gives me peace of mind that I have left him in loving and caring hands.

My daughter went to Our Little Village when she was between 10 months and 18 months. Karla and Saidy were so good with our girl, the worst part of moving away from Oakland was losing them. I felt more comfortable when she was with them than when my parents watched her. They always knew what phrases and songs she was learning at home. Super attentive, friendly, flexible people. Real family vibe, they write a daily schedule on the board for each kid so I knew what my girl did every time I picked her up. They really loved her like family. We miss them and try to visit because our girl loves them so much

My 16-month old daughter has been at Our Little Village since she was 3 months old. She LOVES it there and never cries when I drop her off in the mornings. Karla and Saidy are both so loving and caring, always teaching her new things. My mind is at ease when my daughter is there, allowing me to be at work knowing that she is being cared for well. I appreciate the status reports I get at the end of the day which tells me what my daughter ate and when, when and how long she napped for and what activities were done. Our Little Village is a home away from home and I couldn't be happier to have my daughter come here.
