Mother's Pearls is an excellent home daycare located in the El Cerrito Hills. Both of my children have been with Phoebe since they were 3 months old and I can't think of a more nurturing environment. Phoebe and her staff are dedicated to keeping children engaged and active throughout the day. Kids are able to work on arts, crafts, dancing, cooking/decorating and free-play. The outdoor area is full of fun toys - there is never a dull moment! Phoebe keeps the house very clean and all children must have their temperature's checked before entering. We feel so safe having our children there during the pandemic. I highly recommend Mother's Pearls Daycare!

01/08/2016 My son has been going to Mother's Pearls for almost 2 years, and he loves there. I have visited a lot of daycare places before placing my son at Mother's Pearls. All the daycares I visited were fine, they all have kids running around, play, laugh or cry. So, what made me decide to put my son in Phoebe's (Mother's Pearls owner) hands? Because during my visit, there were 2 little kids coming to hug Phoebe, and one of them said "I love you" to Phoebe! Yes, the kids love her! This shows clearly to me that Phoebe is the one! What can you ask for more from a caregiver?

The next following two years proves me that I made the right decision. When my son was still an infant, every time I visit, I see Phoebe holding him in her arms, not placing him in a crib and letting him cry. Phoebe has been a caregiver all her life, and she knows how to let kids have fun! The kids make a lot of art works at Mother's Pearl, such as hand painting, butterfly clock, shaving cream art, baking cookies, Valentine ’s Day/ Mother's Day/Father's Day cards, you name it. When the weather is right, Phoebe also takes kids to the nearby park to have a play or picnic! My son always has fun at Mother's Pearls :)

In addition, breakfast, snacks and lunch are provided at Mother's Pearl. If you child has special diet, she can also accommodate. My son is a vegetarian and eats no eggs, and there is a boy needs to eat gluten-free and another boy needs to eat nuts-free. The hours is wonderful for working parents, it's from 6:30am to 6:00pm! Also the cost is very affordable, too. If you are looking for a daycare, you definitely need to check out Mother's Pearl!

My son's daycare, Mother's Pearls, has full and part-time openings for infants and toddlers. Mother's Pearls is a small in-home daycare in the El Cerrito Hills, open Monday through Friday, 6:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. My son has been going there since he was 5 months old (he's now almost 21 months) and he's flourishing -- he's learned his letters, some numbers, and some sign language! Meals are provided, the cost is very reasonable, and Phoebe Williamson (the owner) is very flexible with scheduling. We've had a couple of different babysitters pick our son up in the almost 1.5 years he's been there, and Phoebe has been great about working with them. We've been really happy there, and our son has too. Phoebe can be reached at 510- 367-7436. Please feel free to contact the moderator for my information as well if you have any questions.

Re: Preschool or Daycare for 2 yr old near Richmond
Hi! Our son's daycare may be more up your alley. He goes to Mother's Pearls, run by Phoebe Williamson, in the El Cerrito hills. He's 19 months old and is now the second-oldest kid there, as kids tend to leave around age 4 for preschool. Phoebe is licensed for 6 kids, but currently has 3 children there (a girl who's 2.5 or 3, my son, and a 6-month old), and some days my son is the only one! Phoebe used to be a preschool teacher, and the daycare is play-based. They have a backyard area as well. She has great hours -- 6:30am to 6pm -- and we pay $900/month. It's an unstructured environment, but our son seems very happy there. If you're interested, her contact info is 510/367-7436 (cell) or 510/558-346 (home). Aliza
