Are you looking for more than a daycare? Lynn's Montessori Family Daycare offers the best of both worlds--a small, home-based daycare run by a qualified, experienced Montessori teacher. She has created a warm, child-centered space in her home. Her program offered a stimulating, but safe and non-chaotic environment for our son as he grew from a toddler to a preschooler. She uses Montessori principles to encourage developmentally appropriate play. Her materials are fabulous. Lynn's staffing ratio is amazinghe has one person to help with the two babies and at least one other person to help her with the older children. Each child gets a lot of attention. There is a backyard space for the kids and she is around the corner from a park. She also often arranges for her staff to cover days when she is closed. This is to recommend Lynn Drewes, a wonderful caregiver who runs a small home-based Montessori preschool. Lynn has 15 years of Montessori teaching experience, has a gentle manner, and is incredibly intuitive about children. Her home is well-stocked with age-appropriate toys, and she provides a calm and structured program including art, music, excursions to parks, and a big backyard. Re: Seeking Small Montessori School
Hello. My son is at a wonderful home-based Montessori, Lynn's Montessori Family Daycare in the Richmond Annex (right off Carlson Bvld exit, two blocks from El Cerrito Natural Grocery on San Pablo). As it is a new school, I was nervous about several things, but I am so glad we decided to send him compared to the alternatives (my son had been in 4 situations previously!). Lynn has many years of Montessori teaching experience. When her former school closed last summer, she converted her house and back yard into a school. She is extremely gentle with the children, and lets them pursue whatever interests them. She has purchased lots of high-quality Montessori materials. The staff ratio is incredible--she employs a full-time assistant, even though she is currently taking only 6 children (she plans to expand sometime in the future). She provides a learning environment that is also a nurturing, safe environment without the chaos of larger schools, and the ability to spend time working with each child. Lynn's Montessori Daycare School (El Cerrito, Richmond, Albany, Berkeley, Pinole)
Lynn's Montessori Daycare School now has openings. Lynn has 20 years experience in taking care of toddler to older children and she is a saint! I have never heard her raise her voice to a child the whole time my 3 children have been under her care. She provides a loving, nuturing and caring environment as well as a rich learning and friendly environment. The kids absolutely LOVE and ADORE her!She has just opened her own place in her house (which looks more like a pre-school than a home!) There is no T.V, or other types of distractions - just a ton of toys, arts and music as well as did I mention the outdoors? Her backyard is totally converted into a safe playground w/huge sandbox, water discovery, and more. I honestly cant say enough about this wonderful caregiver! Thank you - Lynda

New Daycare - Lynn's Montessori Family Daycare (El Cerrito/Richmond Annex)

If you are looking for a caring, calm and experienced person to care for and teach your children, I want to direct you to Lynn's Montessori Family Daycare which will be opening on September 1st. Lynn has been teaching in Montessori programs for over 15 years and was the teacher of my children when they were toddlers. Which wasn't easy since my son was just beginning to show the signs of autism. It was a very difficult time in which Lynn was quite helpful and gentle in directing us to proper services for his needs. She shaved months off his diagnosis time and for that we are tremendously grateful.
