We strongly recommend my son's daycare to parents trying to find a wonderful home-based daycare.

My son, 1 year old, has been in this daycare for two months and really enjoys his weekday there. Rosario, the owner of the daycare creates a really nice and welcoming environment for my little boy. My son learns quite a lot and makes friends over there. Especially, we are very impressed by our son's willingness to share his toys with other kids.

Rosario creates a lovely play area in her backyard with sandbox, water table, etc. Also very beautiful indoor play structures. The most important part is my son could enjoys all these, because of the relative small size of this daycare with 3 kids. And we did not miss any exciting moment of our little boy, since Salinas routinely shared pictures of him through text messages. It was also a very helpful for us on his first day there.

We are leaving because of moving to other state. Two months is relative short, but Rosario has impressed us through her kindness, warmness and nurturing. Thanks, Rosario.

In summary, Little Luna would be a standard for us to choose a great daycare in the future. She has one openning now. Please contact Rosario at (510) 260-4129 for vacancies. And check website (littlelunadaycare.com) for more inforamtion

Feb 2014

I would like to recommend Little Luna, an excellent day care in El Cerrito. Our 2 1/2 year old son has been extremely happy here and has thrived under Rosario's attentive and loving care, as well built happy friendships with the other children. Rosario has a wealth of experience in early childhood education and development and assists each child to learn and explore in their own unique way, while building social skills. They do lots of arts and crafts, have circle time, play outside a ton, and many times I've found the kids having their own dance party when I've picked my son up. She has a nice backyard area with a sand box, water table (in warm weather), play structure, and ample space to drive little cars, etc. They have fun little parties to celebrate the holidays, and she sends us lots of pictures to see what fun they have all day. Due to unexpected logistical issues with our jobs, we have to sadly give up our spot at Little Luna, and there will be an opening in the beginning of March. I have really appreciated knowing that my son is happy and well-cared for during the day.

June 2013

Due to a changing work schedule, we are sadly leaving our beloved daycare where our two-year old has been happy for over a year. This leaves a full time opening starting June 15. Rosario has been working with young children for years, and has a strong personal and professional interest in early childhood development. She engages the kids in play-based learning and circle time. They sing and play and learn rhymes. A skilled parent herself, Rosario has a gentle but firm presence. She is highly organized, and emphasizes the positive group dynamics of the kids she watches. Our son has developed social skills, empathy, and kindness that amaze me, and he adores the other kids at ''school''. As a testament to the specialness of Little Luna, there is very little turn over. Cormac has been with the same group of 4-6 kids since he started at Little Luna over a year ago. It makes me sad to be leaving. It's a very special place and the next family who gets a spot will feel as lucky as we did to ''score'' a spot in this loving daycare.

We love Little Luna Day Care! The facility is clean, bright, and inviting, and is stocked with a wide variety of toys and books. The kids routinely enjoy the spacious outdoor play area and water table, and really enjoy each other's company. And Rosario is warm and nurturing, putting our clingy baby at ease remarkably quickly. The small group means that each kid gets lots of attention. She also does a terrific job of communicating with us, routinely sending pictures and texts of what he is doing that day. It is a relief to know that he is having fun and is well taken care of while we are at work. We feel very lucky to have found a spot for our son at Little Luna Day Care. Julie

We have had a wonderful experience with Rosario. She has cared for our daughter for the past 10 months. Her daycare is clean, well stocked with books and fun toys. There is a big back yard. She is caring and loving. If you are looking in the Albany/El Cerrito area do go by and meet her. You will love it!

July 2008

We are vacating two spots at our fantastic daycare (formerly known as ''Little Luna'') at the end of August, so I am spreading the word to anyone searching for trustworthy childcare.

Rosario Salinas, ''Charo'' as the kids call her, has been caring for my twin boys for over two years and I have only wonderful things to say about her and the quality of care and education she provides. It is a small group, so the kids get tons of individual attention while doing preschool activities, as well as being able to go on lots of field trips (often with Charo's sister Rebeca ''Becky'' Quintana and the kids at her nearby daycare). Please feel free to call me if you would like additional information. I was a very nervous mom with two boys who had never been cared for by anyone other than family when we started at Little Luna, and I feel very fortunate to have found providers as kind and loving as Charo and Becky. If you are interested in a daycare in Albany, I have a recommendation for you. Little Luna is a home based daycare located off Brighton in Albany. My daughter has been there full time for over a year and she is incredibly attached to the provider, Rosario. This is a very loving environment with healthy food, lots of outdoor play structures and toys and books. My daughter is on the sensitive, shy side and has come out of her shell in the care she receives at Little Luna. I got tremendous support during potty training and also the daily basics of table manners and correct grammer. I know she is getting great care while I am at work.

All the children seem so happy and thrive under Rosarios care. If everything works out correctly, the daycare will become a preschool in the next month or so. Rosarios sister Rebecca has come on board and has added so much already! I look forward to seeing the preschool emerge.

Come and join our family!
