Our amazing, loving, childcare provider Alice has two openings (4 mos.-3 yrs) in her very small home based daycare located a short walk from the North Berkeley BART station starting right after the new year.
Alice is one of those people who is truly living out her calling and is a bonafied ''baby whisperer''. She provides a stimulating environment with play, crafts, games, music and dance and provides healthy simple food like organic broccoli, beans, yogurt etc.--and will work to accommodate different diets/needs (and breast milk).
She gives each baby/toddler lots of individual love and attention and also gently helps them to learn social skills and good habits (being nice to friends, picking up, eating skills etc.). She's also an expert potty trainer for kids who are ready. Her daycare is right next to a small tot park too so the kids get outside and play daily and nap really well after. She has been amazing with our daughter who is always excited to see her and has really blossomed under her care.
She's quite affordable ($325/week) and her daycare is open 5 days/week 8-4.

I would like to highly recommend the home licensed day care of Alice Shelton. My daughter Chloe was there for a little over one year in 2010-2011 from 7 to 22 months and she still would be if we weren't moving back to France. We will miss her greatly because Chloe and I bonded very deeply with her. Alice is very caring and gives to every baby/toddler specific attention, although she has a routine and knows to be firm. It is very reinsuring for both parents and kids. I believe Chloe was much better ''mannered'' with Alice than with us. There are a few other babies/toddlers, enough to make a play group but not too many either. I loved that she always took them outside to take a walk (or a stroll) and visit various playgrounds. She lives next door to a playground fine for tots, that's very convenient, too. She cooks very healthy (simple) meals (steamed broccoli, cauliflower etc) I found out with her that Chloe loved steamed broccoli The only thing was she is closing at 4pm, which is pretty early. I would like to recommend Alice Shelton as a daycare provider. She has taken care of our son Alexandre for a year and soon he will be leaving to go to pre-school. Alice is a wonderful provider, a very nurturing and caring woman. Every parent recommends her highly. She is especially good with babies and accepts them from 3 months on. We are planning on a second baby and we would love for her to be our caregiver again. Her phone number is 510.644.1148.

Our son's long time daycare provider, Alice Shelton, has a couple of openings that she asked us to advertise. She has at least two slots available for full time daycare in her flat in West Berkeley. Alice had our son, Colin, for two full years, and now he's in preschool. We could not have chosen a better provider for our son, and we will be maintaining a relationship with her in the future. Alice has been a provider for over 25 years. Please give me a call for a reference (Eric), or you can
contact Alice directly. Contact: Alice Shelton, 510-644-1148
