Re: Any openings in your preschool?

I would like to recommend Adela's World of the Children. My son is 16 months old and we are very happy with the care he receives from Adela. She is very patient and caring with our child. She has a very clean, safe, and well organized home where she provides care. The main room is well decorated for the children and she spends time with them teaching them their numbers and ABCs in both Spanish and English, other activities include art and music. It is more play based with frequent outings for walks or to local parks. She also has a back yard with a small play structure for outdoor time. Home cooked meals are provided for the children and she will work with parents who have special dietary concerns for their kids. Adela speaks both English and Spanish and the program is Spanish immersion. My wife speaks Spanish and it has been great that our son is also hearing Spanish at daycare. Additionally, I like that her house is about 4 blocks to the El Cerrito BART so it is easy to get to work after dropping off our son. Robert

My son has been attending Adela's home daycare since he was 6 months old. He is nearly 2 and I am extremely happy with the care, education, and level of play he receives during his time there. Some of the basics that set Adela and her daughter Lesly apart from other providers are they allow 3 days a week, they speak both English and Spanish to the children, the ratio of children to adults is great, no TV, indoor/outdoor play, organic healthy variety of foods, and walking distance to the train. They have recently received their accreditation for Preschool so we will be able to keep our son in their loving care for longer than expected. They already teach the kids so much, numbers, ABC's, shapes, colors in both Spanish and English and manners. They are a wonderful loving daycare that you would be lucky to be a part of. Jennifer

I highly recommend Adela's World of the Children Home Day Care. They just got licensed to be a home preschool as well. I have been taking my son to her day care since he was 2 months old (March, 2010). He is now 2 years old and still has a blast going- many times refusing to leave and go home. When he was a baby, I noticed both Adela and her daughter Lesly gave him lots of love and attention, they always held him and hugged him. Both take their jobs seriously and enroll in child development courses in the evening. The preschool they just opened will be offering a Montessori approach to learning. The day care is small, and feels very much like a home. It is very clean and has a lot of age-appropriate activities and toys for the children to engage in. Adela and Lesly prepare fresh food for the kids everyday, filled with fruits, vegetables, and meat. And they spend a lot of time outdoors (weather permitting). They have activities like art, music, dancing, learning ABCs and counting (both Spanish and English), and really engage the children. And you can definitely tell they love the babies very much. I highly recommend them. My son has been going there for two years and we are thrilled they are opening a preschool, so he can stay even longer!!!

I noticed that there hadn't been any recent recommendations of my daughter's daycare and wanted to rectify that! Adela's world of the children daycare is a wonderful home daycare run by Adela and her daughter Lesly. The daycare has it all: clean, age-appropriate toys are cycled through the play area, arts and crafts, outside play area, organic milk, home cooked meals, and bilingual instruction (Spanish and English). In addition Adela and Lesly have a very flexible schedule for part-time kids and babysit on evenings and weekends! Normal daycare hours are 7:30am-5:30pm. Thanks to Adela and Lesly my 2 year old can count to 10 in both English and Spanish and responds appropriately when addressed in either language. Most importantly, my daughter arrives happy to see Adela and sometimes is not ready to leave when I pick her up! Some of the older kids have graduated to pre-school, so there are openings for several toddlers and (I believe) one infant. If you live or work in the area please do not hesitate to give her a call to find out more about her wonderful care program.

My son is entering pre-school in January, which is the only reason I would be moving him from Adela's care. With a grandmotherly appeal and a friendly and colorful home, Adela created a home away from home for my son. I highly recommend her if you are looking for someone who has boundless energy and creativity, a flexible schedule, and adaptability rarely seen these days. She is located walking distance from El Cerrito Plaza BART, which is convenient if you're a BART commuter. Please call her for more information, but feel free to call me for a recommendation. My 15 month old son attends Adela's day care 3 full day days each week. Adela is very accomodating of our part- time scheduling needs and offers her services at a reasonable rate. She is extremely organized as well as kind, warm, and gentle. As of now my son is the only child his age there and I'd love for him to have more playmates! You can contact Adela by phone, email, or her website: http://adelashomedaycare.com. Adela has obtained her California childcare license - #073406809 Contact: Adela Orucuta, (510) 898-1476

Adela was introduced to us by mutual friends, and I cannot recommend her daycare and babysitting services highly enough! We have four children, including an infant and a toddler, and no family close by. I am particular about leaving my children with anyone outside of our family and have not been impressed with the vast majority of our local childcare options. That is, until meeting and getting to know Adela! My 2.5 y.o. daughter literally BEGS to go to Adela's and when I pick her up she doesn't want to leave. Adela is like a warm and nurturing grandmotherly figure, with the benefit of child development education. She's honest, kind, and very hands-on; Adela will get right down on the floor to engage in imaginative play with your child. If you are looking for a clean, safe and secure environment in a great location for your children to learn and thrive in, give Adela a call. She has flexible hours for babysitting, and day care hours are M-F from 6:30 am - 5:30 pm. www.AdelasHomeDayCare.com (510) 898 - 1476 main #
