RE: Low-Cost Crowns/ Root Canals

Try Cal Pacific Dentistry school. I didn't have the greatest experience, but lots of people go there. I feel like there are a lot of good students there, but I just happened to get a pretty bad one.... Good luck! tabatha

RE: Dental work with no insurance

Try University of the Pacific in San Francisco. They have a clinic offering low cost dental care for teenagers and adults. I went there years ago (my single mom had no dental insurance, either) and they were great. You can get more info at http://dental.pacific.edu/ Click on ''patient services'' Take care! Kim

Pacific School of Dentistry for oral surgery?

Nov 2006

My daughter has to have some oral surgery done to remove some extra teeth, a little more complicated than just wisdom teeth. Our dental insurance is not covering this procedure. We were referred to a highly compentent practice who I believe can do a great job, but then someone suggested I try calling the school of dentistry in SF. There costs are 40% cheaper than the quote I received from our referral. I was assured it would be a resident and not a student who does the surgery. I am wondering if anyone has had any oral surgery experience with their children or themselves at the Pacific School of Dentistry in Pacific Heights. K

I'd go there and check it out in person. I went there years ago for a simple cavity and it was fairly traumatic. I had to sit in a hallway for over 30 minutes with a dental dam jutting from my mouth waiting for the instructor to check the work of the student doing my cavity. I would never go back. But maybe they've got a better situation for children? Definitely go and see before you take your child there Anonymous
