My son has been working with Jacob for a few semesters now, and has improved his essay writing skills. He was really helpful in another way, which was to discern the quality (or lack thereof) of an HS ELA teacher teaching my son.  There was an was a writing assignment that my son had challenges on, and came to find out it was less about my son but more about that teacher's ability to teach and provide direct feedback on what to improve.  Let's face it, there are not good teachers there and unless you know what to look for, it is easy for them to blame your child when the reality is that it is not your child, but that teacher's general comments that don't help, and furthermore, the lack of interest to actually help because of their unwillingness to do so.  It seems like a bygone era where you have teachers who are clear, direct and generally are interested in improving your child, stay afterschool and willing to help.  Luckily, we got out of that school and started homeschool, we continued to used Jacob and my son has been very successful in his ELA coursework with higher caliber teachers online.

Jacob has been working with my daughter over the last year. He is diligent, focused, punctual, and very helpful. Jacob gave my daughter tools to structure her disjoint thoughts and ideas, and, as a result, her essay writing skills and confidence have grown significantly. I highly recommend Jacob as an English tutor.

Jacob worked remotely with our 10th grade son during Covid on how to approach essay writing. Our son was challenged with how to organize his thoughts and analysis.  He appreciated Jacob’s practical instruction and coaching, and applied the new skills immediately. He has more self-confidence when staring at a blank screen or paper, knowing how to approach getting started and structuring his thoughts. Thanks, Jacob!

We highly recommend Jacob. He worked with our Junior to prepare for AP English Lang. and Composition exam. Our son is a diligent writer, but wanted to improve and needed more attention and feedback than what was available at school. We are so happy to have found Jacob Wang. Jacob is very helpful, knowledgeable, and professional. He brought the material to another level of understanding and accessibility. Our son became a stronger and more confident writer.

Jacob worked with our high school junior who needed help with Honors English/AP English Language and Composition. He was really helpful in assisting her with better understanding how to approach text analysis and writing, and was very professional and responsive.

Jacob is a calm, thoughtful and supportive tutor. He helped my son with a few of his 10th grade's augmentative essaies for his English Literature and History class, and gave him a lot of insights about how to approach writing in general. He is great woking with teenagers.

Jacob was a huge help for us this year when my son was working on  his  college applications. My son appreciated having Jacob to support him.  Jacob advised  him throughout every step of the process to get everything done and submitted on time.   We are very happy that we found Jacob.  He is very good at working with teens.
