Hello families with college bound and college considering high school students, I’d like to recommend to you a truly gifted college admissions counselor, Diana Daymond, https://www.dianadaymondcollegeadmissionadvising.com/.
Diana met with my daughter a few times in the spring of junior year and then dove into the process with her in the fall of senior year. My daughter was determined and successfully finished the Common app, the UC PIQ’s and all of her 10 supplemental applications before Thanksgivings.
Diana’s work with my daughter was pivotal, she was just the right person at just the right moment. My daughter is a good student and an articulate person but she was completely overwhelmed by the vast numbers of directions that could be taken and the myriad layers of process that had to be gotten through to just apply to school in this day and age. Her dad and I didn’t know how to help and had know idea what to do. We, like a lot of well-intentioned parents had no idea how Byzantine the college application process has gotten and in trying not to pressure our kid, were really caught off guard. We were almost useless and my daughter was floundering and on the verge of giving up. Diana got my daughter on track and gave her the confidence that she could do it.

The organizational tools Diana shared with my daughter were key and gave her a visual guide to what she was doing. But my daughter wouldn’t have been able to complete the process without Diana’s encouragement, patience, and some well-crafted “homework “. Diana listened carefully to her and helped her sort out what she wanted from college.
Diana helped her understand the process too, so she knew what she was doing and why. After a few sessions with Diana, my daughter was able to take agency and use her own voice to communicate what she wanted to tell the schools.
Diana also made thoughtful suggestions for additional schools for my daughter to consider. And it turns out that one of those schools is my daughter’s top choice.
All in all, my daughter has been accepted to every school she has heard back from and at this point, has the choice of her top 5 schools. I credit Diana with getting us to this point. My daughter gained maturity and confidence from successfully completing this process and it’s carried forward into other parts of her life, too.

We had a wonderful experience with Diana Daymond. Our daughter is an athlete and had an earlier timeline than most. Diana walked us through all the steps, educating, reassuring, organizing and encouraging all the way. Not only did our daughter get into her top choice because of Diana’s help carefully choosing appropriate schools, but she also reduced the stress of the entire process. Diana knows all the ins and outs of the application process, athletics, grades, testing, timing and somehow also manages to care for the whole teenager. She strikes a brilliant balance of hands on encouragement and stepping back to allow the student to take on each task. I’m blown away, not only by the amazing end result but by the growth in our daughter during her time working with Diana and all the incredible life lessons she learned. We're so happy that the process was so positive, but even happier that we know the school is the right fit and that she’s well equipped and ready to handle the next new chapter.
