Hi, I'd been trying to find an improv class in the East Bay for my 13 year old daughter for the past year with no luck. I reached out to a few folks here on the BPN and elsewhere, and I eventually found Christine from Berkeley Improv.

She ran a class in October, and that one month was enough to ignite a love for improv with my daughter.

The class didn't happen in November because of lack of enrollment, but they're hoping to re-start the class in January for a two-month long cycle: More info at Berkeley Improv website and below.

Perhaps your child wants to join the class!? As a parent hoping that the class will run again because my daughter loved it so much, I offered to spread the word! I hope this message and information finds a few other parents with kids interested in improv as a fun practice to learn, play, and grow with.

Please forward this note & opportunity to others who might be interested!

My son did the Improv for Youth class and loved it! The teacher, Christine, is fantastic with the kids and he had a great time. Improv is a fun and useful skill to have. The kids laughed a lot during the class and learned something about thinking on their feet and bringing humor into everyday situations.

My daughter and I loved this class and the inquiries re:' when do we get to do it again? ' started soon after. The families are very nice and friendly and the instructor teaches while maintaining a relaxed and non-competitive atmosphere. This introduction has made us devotees and sure to sign up for similar classes in the future. Kid already counting days to next one  ( 9-11-16).

I was part of a Family Improv class that Christine taught, along with my 11-year-old daughter.  It was really fun, and a great way to spend time with people we'd never met - having the focus on the various games and sequences and thinking (quickly!) through what might come next.   I would highly recommend it!  Also really appealing that it seems there are no "mistakes", just bobbing down the river of improv seeing what emerges from the group.
