Wood countertops
We are thinking about installing wood countertops in our kitchen. We love the beautiful look of them and the way they bring warmth to a kitchen. We have lots of beautiful wood in the rest of our Craftsman home. Anyone have an experience with the pros and cons of wood countertops. Also looking for a company that sells the pre-sealed customizable wood countertops. Thanks for you thoughts and help!

I LOVE my wood countertops! They are so beautiful and warm-looking, and when I redid my kitchen I couldn't find anything but grey, grey, and more grey options in stone or marble. Mine were done by Karl at Peroba Reclaimed Wood in Richmond: https://www.perobareclaimed.com/ - I highly recommend looking around his showroom and choosing the actual wood you want. He can probably even tell you where the tree is from! My countertops definitely no longer look perfect, but I love the dings and marks they acquire over years - maybe the "presealed" type you mention would not show that type of marks, if you don't want them? Be sure to use stone or tile around the sink, and you'll be fine with wood in the kitchen!
