window replacement
Hi
We are looking to replace our windows through the house. Our windows are old and in alminium frames and do poor insulation. Need recommendations for good contractor for the same purpose. Would also love recommendations on good window companies.

My wife and I were in the same situation recently. In 2020 we installed new, double paned windows in our rental property. For that project we used Marvin Windows and chose the style from the Truitt and White Lumber Co showroom in Berkeley. The people there are quite knowledgeable and helpful and they can recommend one or more installers. We used Ken Gillett and he did a good job. In 2021 we replaced all the windows in our own home. That time we used Pella Windows and contacted Scott at the Pella Showroom in Danville where he helped us pick out the right windows. He did an excellent job from ordering through delivery to follow up after the project was completed. We used our own carpenters to install the windows this time, however, Scott would be glad to recommend qualified installers. His cell phone number is: 925-980-4970. You might be connected to his voice mail but he is very good at returning calls. We have had not problems with any of the windows from either company.
There are plenty of good companies like Truitt and White and contractors. We use Manor Windows and it was good< his name i s Mark (510) 427-3805.
Just be advice that new windows can get really green an dark glass. Do your research to find the clearest windows, if that is a consideration to you.
