Toastmasters or Debate for Young Kids
Hello! I am looking for recommendations of classes, clubs or groups that help develop comfort around public speaking and leadership, something like Toastmasters or debate club, but for younger kids around 8-14. We live in Oakland so looking for things within reasonable driving distance in any direction (except across the bridge). Thank you!

The Berkeley & Albany YMCAs had or have a Model UN program for middle schoolers that my kids did 3 years ago. Not sure it's still around. It was not the best organized but they did some stuff leading up to a small conference (that's the MUN term for the mock UN session).
If you are willing to go to Richmond, Practice Space is exactly what you are describing. My daughter really enjoyed their after school program, and we know several friends who sent kids to their weekend programs and camps. They run debate tournaments that are low key and confidence boosters.
