Therapist for Narcissistic Personality Disorder - any hope?

Hello. I am looking for resources for a family member recently diagnosed with Narcissistic Personality Disorder after blowing up his life. He is looking for a therapist who specializes in NPD as well as a couples counselor who has the skills to manage a client with NPD. East Bay would be ideal, but he is willing to go virtual or drive further afield for a really great person

The internet seems to suggest that people with NPD generally can't/don't change. But is also seems that this is in part because they don't recognize that they are the problem. Any hope for a person who does accept that he is the problem and wants to learn to be in true relationship with other people?

Thanks

Hi, there - I can't comment on whether NPD is "curable" but I currently see a fantastic therapist who is a family and marriage therapist, here is her website for more info: http://fionabrandon.com/.  She is based in SF and has an office in Berkeley as well, but since the pandemic started is only seeing patients virtually (I think it's unlikely he'll find someone right now who is seeing patients in person), though for me this has not been an issue at all since she is quite skillful with virtual therapy.

All the best to him on this journey!
