Skyline High IB program

I am looking to get feedback from parents who have children in Skyline's new International Baccalaureate program. My daughter is in 8th grade and considering Skyline. She is very academic and we are wondering how kids and parents are experiencing the IB program. Thanks.

RE:

My daughter is a 9th grader in the IB program at Skyline. She is really happy to be in IB, and reports that her classes are for the most part interesting, challenging, and well-managed. She  is a pretty self-motivated and academic kid, however she is definitely experiencing more academic rigor than she has ever had in her life. Her core subjects, English, Big History, Math, Spanish and Science are all part of the IB program, so each one is pretty challenging. She has A LOT of homework, and this has been the aspect that has me a little worried, although she is not complaining about it. She consistently has 2-3 hours of homework on school nights, and 6-8 hours on the weekends. I think she is slowly learning better study habits and time management, so maybe she will be able to spend less time studying, but it will still be a pretty full load.  As a parent, I am both excited that she is challenged and happy, as well as concerned about the homework and potential for her becoming stressed out. She also is doing Skyline sports, which is possible to do with IB, but leaves little room for anything else besides school, homework, and after-school practice. Overall, I am glad she is in IB, and have been impressed with the teachers whom I have met.
