Seeking referral to reputable surrogacy agency
Hello Parent Community! I'm a single father of one child and am considering having another child through surrogacy. I would be grateful for any recommendations to reputable full-service surrogacy agencies, as well as any thoughts for those who have been through the process on any considerations or words of caution. Family Formation Law Office was great. They seem to have thought of everything, so nothing is left to chance and any potential conflicts are worked out way ahead of time or avoided completely, right down to who will be in the delivery room, who will hold the baby first, etc. We had a very positive experience and six years later are still in touch with our wonderful gestational carrier. For your situation, I would recommend using a separate egg donor and getting parenting orders from the court well in advance of delivery so that there is no misunderstanding. When the hospital has a copy of the court order on hand at birth, you (the intended parent) are named on the birth certificate and immediately have full parental rights. Good luck!
