Seeking dog sitting/boarding recommendations for reactive dog
Hi BPN community! We are looking for a place to board our rescue dog when we are out of town. She is a sweet pup (about 35lbs, looks like a Shiba mix), but can be anxious and reactive with other dogs, territorial, and resource-protective. We've been boarding her at Happy Hound, but she is required to wear a muzzle in the play area there, so we're hoping to find a calmer setup for her. Ideally, we'd love to find someone who can board her in their home, with no other pets (no other dogs, no cats), and who has some experience with reactive dogs. We live in Berkeley, but would be willing to drive for the right fit. Thank you for any recommendations!

Check out Dirty Dog Hikes. I had my pittie at Happy Hound for almost 2 years. Then she had an incident with another dog and she got labeled the problem…I found Dirty Dog Hikes and they became her home for almost 7 years. Dorian and Kate are magical and truly care about dogs. They will assess and see if it’s a good fit. Your doggo might still need a muzzle but they operate very individualized services so your dog could find a great home with them.
Gian C on Rover watches our reactive dogs at our house. He does drop ins or house sitting. He's been great with our three dogs who are all reactive in different ways. If you go through him off the site he's cheaper because he doesn't loose part of the money to fees. +1 (707) 601-0957
