Seeking Blue Shield therapist

I'm looking for recommendations for therapists in network with Blue Shield (we have a PPO plan). It's been a struggle to find anyone, especially for in-person therapy -- we live in Oakland near the Berkeley border. At this point it's not important what kind of therapy, just if they listen and are more useful than a self-help book. After other unsuccessful instances of negotiating with the insurance company, we'd prefer to find someone who takes Blue Shield, instead of dealing with a superbill. Thank you all for your advice!

Hi there,

Marie Hopper, MFT in Albany takes only one insurance: Blue Shield. She is amazing and saved my life.

Hi!

Not local, but you could check with Silverlake Psychology in LA for video therapy. I found them when we lived in LA and have continued to use their telehealth therapy now that we live here.

I have BCBS (but from a different state) and they accept it, so it’s worth asking!
