Rooster rescue?

Hi all-

I unexpectedly have a rooster on my hands; one of our chicks has grown up and started crowing!

Anyone know where I can take him?  I'd like him to live a happy life that doesn't end with him being dinner!

Thanks!

Lisa

we also had an unexpected rooster when our chick grew up.  We ended up taking him to Mike's Feed Store where a farmer adopted him.  There are a lot of folks that go there an even leave their names looking for a good rooster.

I work the front desk at Lindsay Wildlife Hospital, and when we get calls like yours (which happens more often than you might think ;)) we usually refer them to Hosanna Homes in Castro Valley. It's an organization that works with foster kids, and one of their branches is a ranch where the kids get the opportunity to connect with farm animals. They are a great resource for wayward critters like your rooster. http://hosannahomes.comcastbiz.net/critters/

Same thing happened to me. I took him to the Berkeley animal shelter.
