Roofers and Solar: Timberline, Planchon, Westco, Sierra... help?
We need a total reroof on our old house, and we'd like to add solar panels at the same time. We'd hoped to save some money by hiring a company that does both, but so far that quote is the highest of all combined quotes. If you have done roofing and solar in the last few years, I'd love to hear who you went with and how it's all holding up. We need the roof done within 30 days (gulp) but the solar could be later. I've received a few quotes, but the spread between them is huge, which makes it hard to choose with confidence!

We used Albion Solar as the general contractor, with Westco Roofing as the roofer and subcontractor. Albion handled all of the details, and both parties did a terrific job. I'd do it again!

Sorry for the late reply but we just did the exact thing you are looking to do. We worked with Solar Technologies out of San Ramon and Berkeley Roof Services for the roof replacement. The two companies coordinated with each other and we couldn't have been happier with either company. They were responsive, friendly and honest. Both projects came back on schedule and on budget.
