We're in the process of replacing our roof and adding solar (+ reinstalling insulation). We met with Berkeley Roofing and Precision Roofing. We chose Precision. Both Roofing companies were comparably priced, but the solar bid we got with Precision was better. Good luck.
We had our roof done by Yorkshire Roofing about 18 months ago and were very happy with their work.
Local roofers who have a good reputation and who I have hired over the years are below. Be sure to talk with several of them and compare their bids. (No particular order of preference). We used Jay Song 510.635.0252 a few years ago. Last year he fixed (at no charge) an issue with the roof that was not his responsibility.
