Recommend a Pediatrician at Berkeley Pediatrics?

Hi there, we have had a frustrating experience at Berkeley Pediatrics on Walnut Street in Berkeley - in the last 5 years we will have had 3 different doctors due to turnover.  We recently found out our current doctor is leaving. Before we give up on the practice, can you recommend a pediatrician at Berkeley Pediatrics that you love that we can switch to?  And that hopefully won't leave in a year!  We'd love some continuity for our child's last few years of high school, and to actually have a relationship with their doctor.  Who do you recommend?  Thanks so much!!

My 9 year old daughter has been with Dr Katrina Michel at Berkeley Pediatrics since birth. Can't promise she will still around forever but we've been lucky to avoid turnover so far with her (and she's great!).

We love Olivia Lang there (both our kids have seen her since they were born). I hope she's not one of the ones leaving!

We really love Dr. Cassidy Mellin @ Berkeley Pediatrics. She just joined the practice in 2024, so I'd imagine she's staying put for awhile (this is coming from a parent of 2 very young kids).

My co-parent and I have Olivia Lang for our son (4) and her daughter (10 mo) since their births, and we love her. I didn't realize there was so much turnover there!

Oh no, who is leaving now?  We used to have Dr. Woods and now we have Dr. Franks.

We just rejoined Berkeley Pediatrics (after a brief period of time with Kaiser), and we highly recommend Dr. Cassidy Mellin. She is great and really connected immediately with our teen and tween.  We have also seen Dr. Michel and Dr. Lang previously for sick visits, and they are great too, so there are lots of great options at Berkeley Pediatrics.

We are another Dr Lang fan!  She’s great for both of our kids

We are in the same boat so glad to see this post and the response!  We joined because we wanted our son to have a male doctor, so started with Dr. Woods.  He left, and we started seeing Dr. Elia.  Then she left, and we started seeing Dr. Pooja Singal.  And now she left!  I believe the rest are all still there.  Curious if something is going on with the practice, or this is just our back luck.

We've had a similar, frustrating experience. We started with Dr. Woods, then moved to Dr. Elia, then moved to Dr. Singal. All of them have left by now. We also had some worrying lapses in care that ultimately prompted us to switch practices (we're now at East Bay Pediatrics). Berkeley Peds inadvertently gave one of our children an extra round of his primary vaccines and had to re-do a frenectomy on one of our other kids. They also mishandled a specimen such that a whooping cough test for our baby could not be processed. We have plenty of friends who continue to have great experiences there, so we could just have gotten unlucky, but we started to feel that there might be systemic issues with the practice.

My now teenage kids have seen Dr. Lang since birth and she is wonderful! I hope she is sticking around.
