recent reviews of Cabo resorts

Does anyone have recent experience with resort-type places in Cabo that would be good for a vacation for a family travelling with 6 adults and one five-year old?  All previous postings are quite old.  I know that if we want to be able to swim in the ocean we need to avoid the Pacific side of Cabo.  But is it also true that the beaches on the calmer side are rocky?  Any info is appreciated.

It is hard to find a resort with a swimmable beach in Cabo. Can you vacation in Puerto Vallarta? Flight is close and beaches are better.

We have been to several resorts in Cabo and PV, we do not swim in the ocean when we go to Cabo. We do dip in the ocean in PV. Neither is as nice as the Cancun side of Mexico.

Hilton Los Cabos has a swimmable beach.

I've only been to one resort in Cabo and it was so great, we went back - the Hilton Los Cabos. It has (apparently) one of the only safe, swimmable beaches, plus all the pools, etc.

I think it would be fun for a 5 y/o - check the website and see what you think. https://www.hilton.com/en/hotels/sjdlchh-hilton-los-cabos-beach-and-gol…

Last time we were there, we could hear whales calling in the ocean when we put our heads under the water - so magical!

We really enjoyed our time at Dreams Resort in Cabo. I'm not a big resort person, but we have two little kids and we had a blast and had an excellent experience. I can't recall if the beach is swimmable but they have multiple pools: Two heated pools, including an infinity pool with a children's section and an adults-only tranquility pool. Three outdoor whirlpools. Beach faces the Sea of Cortez and offers wait service and the beach does offer hammocks under thatched roofs.

We went to Hyatt Ziva in 2022 and it was a great vacation. There's two towns. Cabo San Lucas is louder, more crowded, and more of a party scene. San Jose del Cabo is still packed wall-to-wall with resorts and tourists, and there's plenty of boozing, but it has a less intensely party tourism vibe. We went to a swimmable beach somewhere in Cabo San Lucas but the loud music and crowds diminished the experience for me. I agree with another reply that if a swimmable beach is really what you're after, Cabo probably isn't the best choice.

We recently did as big group trip (25 adults, 15 kids) to the Hyatt Ziva all-inclusive in Cabo and it was great.  No reasonably priced resort is perfect, but the food was good enough, the swimming pool clean, and my kids enjoyed the childcare activities.
