Rec for pregnancy acupuncture?

Hi BPNers,

Long past my own pregnancies, I remember how much acupuncture helped me with pain, discomfort and morning sickness. I’ve recently recommended acupuncture to a friend who is entering her second trimester and also feeling quite awful most days. I’d love recommendations on good acupuncturists in the  area who specialize in acupuncture for pregnant women.

My friend lives in Berkeley so Berkeley/El Cerrito/Albany would be great but I think she would go a bit farther to Oakland, Richmond or Emeryville for a wonderful and expert practitioner!

Many thanks in advance  for your responses!

I love and go to the Oldershaw clinic.

check out Traci Moran at Full Moon Acupuncture. She was amazing, gentle, and wonderful. https://www.fullmoonbayarea.com/

Hi there - Dr. Kao and her folks are amazing. I worked with her when I was trying to get pregnant (twice), during both pregnancies, and then again with some serious post-partum issues (PPA, breastfeeding, sleep, etc.). She's wonderful and specializes with pregnant folks or those trying to get pregnant. Highly highly recommend!

The oldershaw clinic in Oakland!! They’ve been treating pregnant women for decades. I saw autumn throughout my pregnancy and she’s amazing. I still see her postpartum.

Hi!

I used https://www.eastbayacupuncture.com/ during my pregnancy and found it beneficial.

I had a great experience with Shoshana at Manzanita Wellness: https://www.manzanitawellness.com!

I just finished seeing Ananda as Octogon in North Oakland/Temescal (right near the DMW). She was so helpful and very caring through this pregnancy and my last one three years ago. I saw her during the last one to deal with anxiety, back pain and baby being breech. And this one for high blood pressure. But it really helped with all of my annoying and uncomfortable pregnancy symptoms. It's community acupuncture and so she's seeing multiple patients at once but it's still a very good experience and the set up makes it affordable to see her as regularly as one should. She spends a good deal of time listening to what you need and are feeling and is good at addressing whatever is going on.

I went to Grow Family Acupuncture in Albany while pregnant last year. Rachel is warm and so knowledgeable.

Raven and Wren Wellness on Seventh Street (West Berkeley)

I love going to Rachel at Grow Family Acupuncture on Solano!

I see Nancy Rakela on 6th Street in Berkeley for acupuncture, originally for fibroids, now just for general support. I highly recommend her, I know she helps a lot of women with fertility issues and she is extremely knowledgeable and kind and wise.  I'm very grateful I found her and recommend seeing her.

I highly recommend Aimee Ruiz (her practice is called East Bay Acupuncture). I saw her every week for the last 8 weeks of my pregnancy and she was so knowledgable and caring. Her office is on Grand Ave in Oakland so hopefully not too far for your friend and Aimee would be worth the drive!

Mitchell family acupuncture on Solano focuses on pregnancy. They are great!

I would highly recommend my acupuncturist. Her name is Shirliey and she owns/operates Wealth Acupuncture off Telegraph. It’s not a super fancy space, but Shirliey is the real deal.

Anna Gold. She is in Berkeley on 5th between Dwight and Channing. I saw her during both of my pregnancies and continue to see her. She’s a light!

Prajna Chaudhry at Energy Matters in Oakland On Piedmont Ave. I've seen her preconception and during pregnancy.
