Looking for a math tutor for a teen

Hi,

I'm looking for a math tutor for my daughter who will be a sophomore this year taking Honors Algebra 2.

She needs support reinforcing concepts, completing homework, and preparing for exams. She has been diagnosed with dyslexia and dyscalculia, but is very bright and motivated to succeed. She's easy to work with despite challenges around math.

Ideally this person could come to our home on the Oakland/ Piedmont border.

Please share any recommendations!

We found Robert Tunney recommended here on BPN to work with our HS son and he was excellent, and can tutor in your home.

Kevin is the best! He helped my child survive high school and even helped her briefly by zoom when she was a bit stuck in college. Kind, connecting, encouraging, a great teacher...all the things she was missing at her high school. Can't say enough good things about him.

Classroom Matters in Berkeley saved our son in high school. Super great tutors. He had one he used a lot but he would use different tutors for different subjects and he really liked them all. They are in person and virtual. Our son did virtual (very convenient). Good luck!

I wholeheartedly recommend Daniel Mayeri. He was recommended to us by our middle school and he's been just phenomenal. Daniel has a lovely and easy-going personality which made it easy to connect with my anxious kid - but he never lost sight of the task at hand. He found creative and engaging ways to explore math concepts and helped my son achieve the mastery needed as he progressed thru his courses (including the COVID/Zoom era). He was such a good fit that when our son moved up to High School, he kept on working with Daniel all the way thru to 12th grade! I was so impressed by how Daniel was able to continue to meet our students evolving needs (and personality) as he grew thru his Middle + High school years. Our son is about to leave for college and is  focused on a STEM major. He feels well-equipped with both the knowledge and confidence to tackle college level work. With this many years of experience, I can't recommend Daniel highly enough.
