Looking for independent senior housing
Hi all, I am looking for options for independent senior housing for my parents. They don't want or need housing which is assisted or includes meals, which many places seem to offer that I have seen. They would like to be able to access a swimming pool and I think help with transportation would help in the future (busses). The only one I have heard of is Rossmor -- any feedback on that would be welcome. Is there anything like that but closer to Berkeley/Oakland? Also, are there any housing options with russian-speaking communities? That would make them feel more comfortable, too, as their English is not great. Thank you!

I can't recommend any of these personally, but I have started looking into this topic for my senior parent as well. Deer Creek North in San Ramon looks very nice, as does a complex in Pleasant Hill near JFK U. Rossmoor for sure, lots of options mostly owner-occupied I think, but maybe a few rented-out condos. I have heard there is a decent sized Russian speaking population in central Contra Costa, so maybe Concord/Walnut Creek/Pleasant Hill area to start narrowing down your search.
