some factors to make your search more manageable include number of hours you are looking for, number of days and how much you are willing to be involved (if you can donate some time, co-op preschool may be an option) in late January, the group East Bay Mom's holds a preschool fair at the Scottish Rite Center in Oakland. That might be a great starting point for you.

As the parent of twins (now 4), I would strongly encourage you to preference geography.  They will get sick a lot and not always at the same time.  The closer to where you live or need to be, the easier to differentiate when in need.  

In terms of the best, I'd trust the recs on this website. Not sure it matters that it is twins, unless it is ideal to you to separate them. To that, you'd just want to make sure there is more than one room for your age.

We've found Montessori to be really wonderful for developing their identities.
