Locally made custom loft bed

Can anyone recommend where we could get a custom loft (no bunk/desk) bed made locally for under $1000? Something like this company: https://www.collegebedlofts.com/loft-beds-for-kids-teens-adults.html

Or if you've order a custom loft from elsewhere like the company above, would you recommend it?

Thank you!

We got a loft bed from College Bed Lofts.  We painted it, with some sanding for a very smooth surface.  We also did a small design change, by getting a double-bed size loft bed, putting  a twin-size mattress on it, and attaching painted boards on the remaining width.  That way, our kid has a surface next to the mattress to put things on.  We also got the step shelves.

One issue is that hot air accumulates near the ceiling, so it's important to have good air circulation.

The bed is very, very solid. The design is really pretty basic, so frankly anyone with good carpentry skills could copy the design from photos on College Bed Loft's website. I don't know whether that would save any money over just buying a bed from College Bed.

Painting the bed was a Big Project.  Putting it together took a few hours.

We have a bed from College Bed Lofts - got it used off Craigslist. It’s a sturdy bed.

I don’t think you could have it replicated and custom built for under $1000. The assembly took over an hour and required two people at a couple of points. Fortunately we didn’t have to paint it, but that would’ve taken much longer (this is the step I would hire out). And the materials alone (wood + hardware + primer + paint) would probably run over $250. If you add up picking up materials, measuring and cutting the wood, assembling, priming, and painting it’s more than a day of work.

I’ll echo the concern of the previous poster - hot air accumulates at the ceiling. Our daughter is counting down the days until winter — and then until she can sleep near the floor again, but we simply don’t have the space right now.
