Legit Gap Year Programs?

We would like my daughter (currently a high school junior) to do a gap year before college, but want the year to be spent in an organized program, hopefully traveling overseas (France is a big draw). There appear to be a million different gap year programs, and I know not all of them are legit or high quality. How do you find out which are the good ones? And if your child has done a travel gap year program, what was it and would you recommend it? Thanks!

There seem to be a number of colleges that will admit you (that otherwise might not) if you are willing to study abroad in their program for the initial semester of your freshman year. It's not a full year but something you might consider.

RE:

My daughter used EFTours https://efgapyear.com/  to go to Costa Rica.  EFTours has so many choices for gap year travel and also high school and college student travel.  EF Tours also goes to Europe and they have 1 year gap year programs, 2 year gap year programs and programs that are only a few months.   I also highly recommend them for student summer programs as well.  They are well organized and my daughter had a blast.
