Lawyer for School Bullying

Unfortunately, my son is being severely bullied at middle school. He has been physically attacked on several occasions and continues to endure a barrage of daily taunts, physical injury, threats, and exclusion. Our family needs legal advice on this and how to handle this situation with the school and the other families. The school has not been able to meet with us and will not tell us anything outside of what they discussed with my son. We are completely in the dark. There is no plan for his safety outside of keeping an eye out.

I suggest an educational lawyer. I have had support from a few. Of those the best is Deborah Jacobson in Berkeley. She is expensive but she will do a free consult. Also recommend Mark Wojciechowski at Tollner super helpful and knowledgeable.  Law Definitely do not use Zatopa! We a terrible experience with him.

This law office specializes in legal matters related to educational environments. Most of their work concerns advocating for special needs, however, I suspect they could advise you in this matter. It's definitely worth calling them to see what they say about your case. Tollner Law Offices https://specialeducationcounsel.com/

Keep a written daily record of what happened that day.  I am not sure what "the school has not been able to meet with us" means...but ask to meet with the principal, this is so severe.  If it's OUSD, there's an ombudsman, Gabriel Valenzuela.  You can print out the bullying report form, and submit it to your principal, and the principal will respond withing 14 days, or you can just call the ombudsman office for help.   https://www.ousd.org/ombudsperson/anti-bullying-policy-students     &nb…; I mention OUSD because I am familiar with Gabriel, but probably other school districts have an ombudsman or at least they have a superintendent's office if the principal is not responding.  I am sorry.
