late or missing child support payments

Hi!

While my ex used to pay his child support payments on time he has recently been slipping.  For the last several months the payments have been late and I've had to remind him, and now he's stopped paying all together.  Since things are very tight for me financially (I have full custody of our three teenagers) this has resulted in my paying bills late.  Is there any other recourse besides taking him to court? I neither have the time nor the money for that and my attorney has retired.  I'm grateful for any advice.

I do not have personal experience with child support, but I do have teenagers and I know how expensive they can be.  I don't think you need a lawyer - a lot of this stuff is online now.   The state of California Dept. of Child Support Services has a bunch of info on their website about how to get started. http://www.childsup.ca.gov/   You really need to take action, because it might take a while to process.  Good luck!

Department of Child Support Services will help you at no cost.  You have to open an account with them. They have a web site.
