Kenya safari

My wife and I and are in our early 80's and would like to go on a safari in Kenya next year. We would be very grateful for recommendations of very good quality companies which could provide us with a fun, interesting and varied experience for about two weeks. We travel well but are a bit slow walking these days and can not walk for long distances. It would be nice to have opinions on when the "best" months to go are as well. We appreciate your input.

Strongly recommend that you consider Tanzania (instead or in addition to) Kenya. Both are amazing. Fantastic experience with Duma Explorer/Alika Africa, https://www.dumaexplorer.com/

Highlights of our trip were in Tanzania. Time your visit with the migration if possible ... June was a great time to visit Tanzania but I've only been there once!

Safari had essentially no walking for us - just in the car driving around looking for animals; it was relaxing!

Hi there, my husband and I went on a Kenyan safari for our honeymoon a few years go. We booked through Porini Safari Camps (https://porinisafaricamps.com/) and would highly recommend them. They are a Kenyan company with staff in Kenya and offices in the US, Canada, and UK. They helped us create a custom itinerary based on our budget and interests, and offered solid advice about when and where to travel. We had an 11-day safari across Kenya and Tanzania and loved every minute of it.

In terms of when to go, January to March is usually hot and dry and great for wildlife viewing, April to May can be wet and muddy, June is green and lush after the rains, July to August is cooler but good for the migration in the Mara, September to October is good weather and good wildlife viewing, and November to December tends to be rainy. We ended up going at the end of June/early July and apart from a day or two of drizzly weather had warm sunshine.

Annie is approximately your age and lives in nearby Tanzania and knows all of the safari companies in the region and can help customize the trip of a lifetime. I went on 3 safaris she helped me organize. You can tell her Angel Hertslet sent you!
