infant daycare waiting lists
I'll be in need of infant daycare starting in June or July 2025 and am looking at home based daycares in the North Oakland/Emeryville area. I would really appreciate any recommendations regarding how many waiting lists I should try to get on and any other advice about the process, including things to look for and/or ask during daycare tours. Thank you!

Hello you can check out Mizz ada’s daycare it is in Berkeley its a family orient child care but my son has learned so much in the last two years

My experience with home daycares was that most of them don't maintain a waitlist or hold a spot for you, although some can provide a sense of if there will be an available spot (if they have a kid who will age out into Kindergarten, for example). My experience was also that it can sometimes be hard to actually reach providers; many don't do email and getting in touch by a cold call can be hard too. That said, it doesn't hurt to compile a list of folks and reach out now so that you can get a sense of who and where you really like.
I don't have advice on the number of waiting lists, but if you plan to pump your milk for your baby, I recommend you get a sense of how comfortable the care provider is with handling expressed milk, as well as with you nursing on site at drop-off and pick up times.
