High School Semester in China
My son is interested in doing a high school semester in a Mandarin language immersion program in China. He would prefer to be in the country as opposed to a big city like Shanghai. Does any one have experience with any of the companies that offer semester abroad programs? We'd love to hear from other families who have done this and potentially have advice for us. I have sent my sons abroad with AFS and in both cases it was a great experience. You can sign up on their website - afsusa.org - to get some preliminary information (sign up doesn't bound you to go abroad, just let's you get specific info about the various programs they offer). AFS will connect you with students who have recently returned from the country you're interested in so that your son can call and ask them any questions directly. I highly recommend their programs both for studying abroad and for hosting an exchange student here, which is also a great experience. www.afsusa.org
